Our Toy Stories

by ESL students at J.H. House Elementary

My Barbie doll Lisa

Cynthia's Favorite Toy

Cynthia was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents are from Mexico.

My favorite toy is a Barbie. Her name is Lisa and she looks funny because she is so black. Lisa has a broken arm and a broken head. Her hair comes out when I wet it with hot water. I gave her a short haircut to make her look better. Hopefully next Christmas I will get a better doll with blue eyes and very pretty blonde hair.

My Tweety Bird

Carolina's Favorite Toy

Carolina was born in the town of La Piedad in Mexico. Her parents are from Mexico.

My favorite toy is Tweety Bird. It has yellow fur and pretty blue eyes. I always put her on my wooden table beside my soft bed. Every day I play with Tweety Bird in the yard. When I go to sleep, I put Tweety Bird in my bed. I love taking her to K-Mart. Tweety is special to me.

My Barbie doll Elizabeth

Karen's Favorite Toy

Karen was born in Bellevue, Ohio. Her parents are from Mexico.

My favorite toy is a beautiful Barbie. Her name is Elizabeth and she has shiny, red hair. She is my best Barbie. I got her last Christmas from my brother. When I touch her tummy, it makes a growling sound. She can even do fun exercises like push ups. I don't want a million dollars. I just want another Barbie next year for Christmas.

My Super Sam trunks

Fernando's Favorite Toy

Fernando was born in Los Angeles, California. His parents are from Mexico.

My favorite toy is Super Sam Trunks. My toy is an action figure that can change to purple and yellow hair. He can also fly with my help. Sometimes I believe he fights with his sword. On the TV show, he slices Frezza in two. He is the best toy I have ever played with this year.
