These resources will help you learn how to list your web site in places that will bring you readersthat all-important online audience for your student writers. There are links to search engine submit pages, services that will automatically submit your URL to many search engines at one time, and pages that provide more detailed guidelines for promoting a site.

Submitting Your Site to Individual Search Engines
You can submit your site directly to the search engine of your choice. Look for a link on the home page of the search engine you want to sumit your page to. It usually says something like Add a Site. This link will take you to a page with instructions that walk you through the process. It's very easy to do. You can usually submit your site free of charge. If you find submitting to each individual search engine too time-consuming, and you have some money to spare, you might want to use one of the following services. All you need to do is supply information about your site and select the search engines where you would like to list your web pages. They automatically register your site at each of your selected places.
