This page is for those of you who want to use
Yahoo GeoCities PageBuilder to add a guest book to your
site. Here are some basic instructions on how to go about
it.
Navigating to the page to Create a Guest
Book
- Open your site using PageBuilder.
- Select the Add-ons button from the toolbar.
- Scroll to the Interactive category listed on the left
and click on it.
- Click on the Guestbook button that will appear in the
window to the right.
- Momentarily, you will see a placeholder labeled
"Guestbook".
- The Guestbook Setup Wizard appears and you will be
advised of the choices you have. The choices include
reviewing entries before they are posted, being notified
by e-mail when a guest signs the guestbook, creating
questions you wish to ask visitors, and setting up the
guestbook to look like other pages on your site.
So, click Begin!
Steps to complete the Guestbook
Wizard:
Step One: Enter your guestbook description.
- You will fill in two text fields: (1)Title and
(2)Describe what your guestbook is about.
- Click Next.
Step Two: Choose your guestbook colors.
- Click on a font color and a background color.
- Click Next.
Step Three: Choose your questions.
- You can go with the default questions that appear.
They are Name, URL, Comments. OR You can change the
default questions by typing over them.
- Additional questions can be added by typing them on
each line.
- You get to choose between a one-line text entry or a
comment box for the entry style. To do this just click on
the drop down arrow on the entry style field.
Step Four: Customize your guestbook look.
- Choose the text for your submit button.
- Choose how many entries displayed per page.
- Choose entry separator type.
- Click Next.
Step Five: Set notification options
- Send notification email. (This option sends email to
you whenever someone submits an entry.)
- Review entries before posting. (Lets you accept or
decline entries before they are actually posted.)
- Click Next.
