After the ceremony we had a reception at a ballroom. My brand new husband had to put on traditional Javanese clothing. He didn’t know how to wear this kind of clothing so he needed some help.

My nieces and nephew

These are my nieces and nephew and they were our helpers. They were supposed to fan us during the reception to keep us cool and fresh. However, they got lazy and Bruce and I got hot.

At the reception Bruce’s parents sat next to me, and my parents sat next to Bruce. The small white flowers that Bruce and I wore were jasmine and they smelled wonderful.

We wore traditional Javanese wedding costumes.

Here we were in our traditional Javanese wedding costumes. The costumes were made of black velvet and they were very hot. Also, my make-up was done in a traditional way and it took my assistants more than three hours just to put it on my face. Getting married was a lot of fun, but it sure was a lot of work too.
