Los
Tambores de Barlovento is celebrated at the
beginning of March in Barlovento, Venezuela.
These
drums were first played in the Barlovento area by
African slaves who had been brought to Venezuela.
Now
it is a big celebration. Other instruments, mostly
of African origin, are often played with the
drums.
