Independence
Day in Ukraine
Vladmir
Nepochatov from Ukraine
There
are a lot of holidays in the Ukraine, all of which
are important to the Ukrainians. However, there is
one day that symbolizes the independence of our
city Kharkiv.
On
this special day, adults don't go to their jobs,
and children don't attend school. There are many
social activities prepared by the Municipal. During
the day, people go to the free markets where they
can buy everything they need. It could be a bouquet
of flowers, a CD player, or a car.
Children
can enjoy a big circus that is located in the
center of the city. When I was a child, I looked
forward to this occasion to go to the circus with
my family.
However,
the best part of the day was the fireworks in the
evening. Most of Kharkiv's population enjoys that
show.
After
that, most of the young people go to parties to
continue celebrating. Most of the city's population
would probably say that the 23rd of August is the
happiest holiday for them.
