Chung Yueng Festival Tse-kin (Pantium) Wong

In Hong Kong there is a holiday called the Chung Yueng Festival. It is celebrated on September 9th of the Lunar calendar.

The story of this holiday was about a family. On that day, a family went to a hill to do something. When they came back home, they found all their animals had died.

They didn’t know what happened. They thought that going to a high place saved their lives.

Because people wanted to avoid getting killed, we have Chung Yueng Festival today. Nowadays, on this festival, people usually go hiking; they go to a high place such as a hill.

However, people celebrate the same way on Ching Ming Festival. On that festival, they worship their ancestors in the cemetery, so we have two days a year to worship our ancestors.
