Hassan An international student in the U.S. When I first came to the U.S., I didn't know anything about Halloween. I arrived for the first time in the month of September. I lived in my cousin's house, and everything in that area was really awesome. A month later it was Halloween, and I got a big surprise. At end of October, I started to see strange things in front of all of the houses next to my cousin's house. I was wondering why that was, but I didn't ask anyone. On October 31, I saw kids wearing different clothes which could make strangers scared. I was surprised when they knocked on our door. I didn't know what they wanted, but they said that they wanted candy. Why did they knock on our door to ask for candy? It was strange. I was thinking about that, but I couldn't figure it out. I was really too shy to ask my cousin's wife, but finally I called her at work. When I asked her about it, she started laughing at me. She told me about Halloween. After that, I enjoyed the holiday the rest of that night. Return
