American Movies are Good, But We Need Our Own Photo: Sandy Peters If you just look at the movie billboards there, you will feel like you are in the U.S.  It's so sad. We don't have many of our own movies. Yi Yi is a recent award-winning Taiwanese movie.   Jung Ping Lin from Taiwan Over 90 percent of the movies shown in Taiwan come from America. So, if you just look at the movie billboards there, you will feel like you are in the U.S.  It's so sad. We don't have many of our own movies. A movie is a good medium because it combines all kinds of art, and it is a good way for people to share their ideas and emotions of happiness and sadness. However, I think it is always the people who live together and have the same culture who can share their feelings well. Whenever I see a good American movie, I am always touched, but inside my feelings are different. Because these are movies for Americans, they cannot move me the same way. That's why I wish we could have our own movies. We do have our own movies, but people don't seem very interested in them. To be frank, our movies are not as fascinating as Hollywood movies. Americans have higher technology and and a more professional film industry, so it's no wonder they can conquer the market. Even though it's difficult to change the situation, I hope our movies can come back to the theaters again.
