When
I was living in Rio de Janeiro, I loved
taking a walk on the beach and stopping at
one of the many food stands to buy a green
coconut and drink its delicious coconut
milk and eat its soft edible
part.

Green
Coconut Stands in Brazil
Yara
Berg from Brazil
In
the big cities such as Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro
you will not see food stands everywhere, but you do
see them in certain areas like parks, beaches,
factories, school exits, or during special events
such as parades, open-air concerts, and
shows.
Some
of the most common food stands in Brazil sell
popcorn, ice cream, corn on the cob, hot dogs,
sugar cane bits or juice.
But
in a big country such as Brazil you will find a
variety of food, depending on where you are.
For
example, if you are in Salvador, a city in the
northeast state of Bahia, you will have, in
addition to those already mentioned, other kinds of
food stands, influenced by the large African
Brazilian population.
When
I was living in Rio de Janeiro, I loved taking a
walk on the beach and stopping at one of the many
food stands to buy a green coconut and drink its
delicious coconut milk and eat its soft edible
part.
