In Saudi Arabia people love to eat silig because it tastes so good. It is a very popular dish which is often served. Silig is made of rice, milk, chicken, and spices. Try it! You will love it!.

Ingredients

  • one whole chicken
  • wo cups of Egyptian rice
  • two cups of milk
(You can add more, if needed.)
  • two small pieces of "Mistake", if available
  • wo spoons of butter
  • unground spices: sticks of cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper, and cloves

Cooking Steps

  1. First, clean the chicken and put it in a good-sized cooking pan with water covering the chicken.
  2. Next, add the unground spices and salt.
  3. When the chicken is done, remove it and put it in the oven to roast. Or, you can fry it. (This is optional.)
  4. Then wash the rice with water and add it to the chicken.
  5. When it is halfway cooked, add the milk and mix them. Make sure the heat is down so it does not burn.
  6. Mix it from time to time, and add more milk if needed.
  7. If "mistaka" is available, fry it in a saucepan with the butter and add it to the rice.
  8. Finally, put the rice on a service plate, cut the chicken into pieces, and put the pieces on top of the rice.
