Teen
Workers Need Rules
Mariela
Rojas from Colombia says
the working hours of teens should be regulated
because their studies come first.
I
don't think teenagers' working is a problem, but I
think they must follow some basic rules. Teens
should not work more than 12 to 15 hours per week.
They should only work two to three times per week,
like on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons.
Working
more than 20 hours per week is not recommended. If
they work that many hours, they won't have enough
time to study and to do their homework. Therefore,
they won't be good students, and their grades will
go down.
Their
first priority should be school. They need to have
free time during the week to dedicate to their
studies. What they learn now in school will
influence their lives. If they perform well in
school now, they will be more likely to become good
professionals in the careers they choose.
However,
I think that students can work to earn their own
spending money as long as they keep their grades up
in school.
