Most of the time this is a hard decision to make, but in Mexico the families grow very strong and family members feel a lot of responsibility to each other.

In Mexico City, people have different opinions about who is going to take care of the parents when they are old. Most of the time this is a hard decision to make, but in Mexico the families grow very strong and family members feel a lot of responsibility to each other.

When parents get older, they are usually cared for by the members of the family. All the members share the responsibility for caring for their aging parents, but often the daughters of the families feel more duty to provide care than the sons do. Some families may decide to put their parents in a nursing home, but this is not usual.

When the situation is worse because the parents are too sick, the family members have to share the responsibility and help each other in this situation. Some families may decide to put their parents in a nursing home or an assisted-care home, but his in not common.
