It was a good gamble to come here because I have learned many things that I wouldn't have learned before.

I went to visit one of my friends in Las Vegas. I walked around and I stayed at the Luxor Hotel and Casino. I chose the Luxor because it has the form of a pyramid!
I gambled the whole time and I lost a lot of money. I played the slot machines and card games. I gambled in the New York Hotel and Casino and I won some money.
I don’t go to the racetracks to bet on horses, but I play poker with my friends for some money. We play at someone’s house. We talk and agree on how much money to use. I win a lot! Sometimes I bet money on soccer games. I won $50.00 for one of these games.
In my native country of Guatemala, gambling is legal in certain places with a permit. People sometimes gamble illegally on the streets; they play card games or dice games.
I came alone to the U.S., but my aunt is here, so I just came to try living here to see if I liked it. I have been living here for four years. I’m going to stay here to see what happens. It was a good gamble to come here because I have learned many things that I wouldn’t have learned before.
