School
is finally over, and as usual the same school Blue
Van takes me home. I eat my dinner around 4:30pm
and I am supposed to take a nap after finishing up
my food. I do not want to sleep, but I sure want to
watch the TV Show "Adventures of Tarzan". Mom
forces me to take a nap, because she says, "After a
long hot school day you must rest for a while or
you will fall sick." She also tells me that we will
be visiting my aunt today.
Later
in evening around 7 pm, we arrive at my aunt's
place and as usual she is cooking something good.
Today I smell Biryani (spicy chicken with evenly
mixed basmati rice) and by this time I am getting
hungry. I tell my Aunt that I want to eat Samosas,
so we all go to this giant food store. There I see
a tall young man with a long mixing utensil is
cooking deep fried Samosas in a huge frying pan.
Aunt
buys some freshly cooked samosas and sandwiches and
along with that comes Spicy Chutney Sauce.
Furthermore, she rents my favorite movie
"Mohra-Indian Hindi movie". I am so happy today;
everything is going well. I start to play my usual
game of racing parked cars. I run beside parked
cars and there is hardly any space to move quickly.
I
am really happy today. I have my homework done and
now I will go home and eat my Samosas, Biryani, and
watch the movie, "Mohra". This is my best day and I
am also winning the race against the cars.
As
soon as I take my eyes off the ground to see how
much more distance is left to the finish line, my
foot gets stuck in the back left wheel of the car.
I fall face forward on a metal handle of a sewage
gutter lid.
I
scream "Mummy, mummey, ma" and threw her into a
state of panic as she sees me crying and blood
dripping from my chin. She pushed a cloth against
my chin and tells me to hold it tightly. In a panic
my aunt and mom take me to the Liquat Medical
Centre. "Doctor is a bad man", I do not know what
he is doing, but it hurts a lot. A couple of
bandages on my chin and I was back home.
Things
are not going as well as I think, I am lying on bed
watching the movie, but I fall asleep a quarter of
the way through. The chin hurts so much as I bite,
so I can't finish my Samosas or Biryani. I lost on
the movie or food part, but I sure was the winner
of the game, and will always win.
