I
Met the Owner of the Shell
Sakpetch
Anglanapiwat from Thailand
I
remember a special time when I was a child. My
parents took me to the seaside. When I was there, I
was so happy. As soon as we got to the beach, I ran
to the sea and jumped in the water. The water
rolled away form me.
I
still remember the sound of the water hitting the
beach and the foam of water like a foam in soda or
beer.
One
day, I looked along the beach for shells to
collect. I found a beautiful one, but suddenly the
owner of the shell appeared from inside. I was so
surprised! I took it to my parents and asked them
what to call it.
My
father said it was a hermit crab, a Se Chun.
He told me to leave it since it was an endangered
animal. After we went home, I decided I should take
all the shells back to the beach to be part of the
home of the hermit crab.
