The Arrival of My Baby Sister
A
Precious Moment
Carmen
Caffarena from Spain
I
remember the time when I was eleven years old and
my little sister was born. My mother was
thirty-nine years old, and she already had four
children, ranging in age from ten and thirteen.
At
first, when she told us that she was expecting a
baby, I didn't like it because those were the
moments when I started to learn how babies came.
Later, however, I was so excited about having a new
baby brother or sister and I loved to help my
mother prepare everything to get ready for the
arrival of the new baby.
The
most precious moment was when she was born and my
parents came home with her. My older sister and I
fought all the time because we both wanted to feed
the baby, change her diapers, and give her a bath.
It was during that time at home with my sister that
I learned the most about taking care of
children.
