One
day I went to the theater to listen to classical
music, and in the middle of the recital, someone's
cell phone rang. It was very annoying. I found it
intrusive. The lady who got a call left the concert
hall right away, but I could still hear her voice
outside the theater, so I could not pay attention
to the nice music.

The
use of cellular phones in public places like
restaurants, libraries and churches can be
offensive and impolite. I think it is acceptable to
use them, but at the same time it is a good idea to
avoid disturbing other people. For example, I have
a friend who tends to use his cellular phone
anywhere. On his wedding day, he had his cell phone
with him; and when he went to put the ring on the
bride's finger, the cell phone rang. He learned
that he needed to restrict his use of the cell
phone because he offended a lot of people at his
own wedding!

Normally,
when I'm driving, and there is somebody in the car
in front of me talking on the phone, that person is
usually driving slowing and slowing down the
traffic. That annoys me because they are more
interested in chatting than in driving, and this
can produce many problems. They need to be polite
to the rest of the drivers. A solution might be for
them to use a hands-free device.

It
is so offensive when I am talking to someone, and
that person answers the phone and never even says,
"Excuse me." It's so impolite, and it's not
uncommon to experience that.

Actually,
many people enjoy talking on cellular phones in
public places, but I think that they disturbe and
annoy the people around them. In my opinion, we
need to pass regulations restricting or banning the
use of cell phones in public places.
A
month ago when I was at the airport waiting for a
flight with my husband, three women were sitting
around us. Then, one of them started talking very
loudly on her cellphone with her boyfriend. I was
reading a book and couldn't concentrate. To make
matters worse, the other two women also received
calls on their cell phones. They were all three
yacking away for ten minutes. I felt really
annoyed. I believe that it was inappropriate and
rude behavior. More and more people are doing this,
and I think it is necessary to pass legislation to
control this problem.

Once
a friend of mine was talking on her cellular phone
while driving. Because she was not concentrating on
her driving, she missed a road signal. She was very
lucky not to hit a person. She still does this when
she is driving. I think we need strict
restrictions. Hands-free phones are useless because
they don't make people concentrate their
driving.

An
ill-mannered person speaking loudly on a cellphone
in a public place is very annoying. I have
experienced two or three times seeing someone
speaking on a cellphone at the movie theatre while
the movie was going on. I felt very annoyed and
tried to show it by complaining to the person in a
polite way.
