I
once had a bad
momenta
sad moment, but as result of this sad experience I
discovered that I am a person who blesses God. On
May 1st, which is a holiday in Guatemala, in the
year of 1997, some friends invited me to go to the
beach. That year the holiday was on Friday, and we
had a long weekend.
We
had a wonderful time; we played cards, swam,
sailed, went fishing, and shared good moments. At
the time I was living alone, I had always dreamed
of having my own house and supporting myself and
for two years my dreams had come true. I had a
pretty house with all the things that I needed.
When
I returned to my house at the beach I was happy
because I had shared a good time with my friends,
but when I arrived at my house I found that it was
empty. Thieves had entered and stolen almost all my
clothes, blankets, furniture, and more. I felt so
bad, because I thought about how much time I spent
to get my things and suddenly everything had
disappeared.
Anyway
my life went on. The next day, I went to work and
continued my life. A few friends knew about what
had happened and told other friends, who called me
and told me to look ahead. They said I could and
told me the sun would be bright for me. But they
also put their money together and bought me many
things like blankets, towels, a coffemaker, and a
microwave.
I
couldn't believe it because I knew everyone had
their own problems and many things to do, but they
forgot their own problems and took time to help me.
I felt so good about having wonderful people around
me, and I learned that the most important thing in
the lives of people is not how much they have, but
how many friends they have. The friends are a good
blessing.
Now
I am living in another country, but I always keep
in touch with my friends there and I am open to
making other friends because I think my friends
make my life so happy and fun.
