Something
happened when I was in Mexico. I was living with my
grandmother, and I was 14 years old. One day, my
aunt, her boyfriend and I went to the store to get
something to eat.
When
we were leaving the store, there were people
selling tickets. You could win money or new cars. I
bought two tickets because I just had two pesos,
and each of them cost one peso.
When
I was about to scratch them, my aunt's boyfriend
wanted to scratch one of them, so I gave him one of
the tickets. When I scratched the ticket that I
had, it didn't win. Then my aunt's boyfriend
scratched the other ticket, and it was the winner
of a new car. He was very happy, but the ticket was
mine.
I
couldn't understand why he was happy, but then, in
about three minutes, I understood what was
happening. He signed the ticket right away.
Automatically, the ticket was his because he signed
it. I couldn't claim the ticket anyway because I
was underaged. Nevertheless, I was the winner, and
I was convinced that the car was mine.
A
week later, my aunt and her boyfriend went to
Monterey, Mexico, for the car, and they came back
with it. After that, they decided to sell the car,
so they sold it right away. When they got the
money, I told them that the money was mine not
theirs. They ignored me and took all the money. I
didn't receive any money.
I
was very upset and mad. That day, I was wondering
how a member of my family could do that to me. My
dad and the rest of the family were very mad at
them, too.
Finally,
I came to the United States. I haven't seen them
for about six years. Now I know that they bought a
house, and they got married. I don't know what I am
going to do when I see them again.
Fate
is very weird because about a year after I came to
the United States, I won another car in a raffle.
This time, I won a Camaro car. Maybe it was a gift
from God. Today, I am feeling good because I don't
feel angry any more toward my aunt and her
boyfriend.
