When you go to the dentist, you can smell an unpleasant odor from the moment you enter. I don't know where that smell comes from, but it makes a dentist's patients scared.

The Smell of a Dentist's Office

Satoe Suyama from Japan

I think dentists should use scents in their offices. Dentists' offices always have a peculiar smell. I think fragrances should be used more there than in any other place of business. When you go to the dentist, you can smell an unpleasant odor from the moment you enter. I don't know where that smell comes from, but it makes a dentist's patients scared.

The smell in the waiting room makes them feel uneasy. As a result, they avoid going to the dentist and their teeth get worse. Because of the smell, whenever I'm waiting for the receptionist to call my name in the waiting room, I always feel that the treatment will be painful. I think that dentists should spray some fragrances into the air of the waiting room to calm their patients down.

A pleasant fragrance would make the experience of going there less scary. It would be good for the dentists, too. They would have more patients, and that means they would make more money.
