Using Scents in Nightclubs

Samantha Wynter from Mexico

Scents could be used in places of recreation for marketing purposes; for example, they could be used in night clubs. Inhaling fragrances could make the people in the club feel safe, comfortable, and outgoing.

A spicy smell could be dispersed in the air, replacing the awful smell of cigarettes and tobacco, making them feel alert and ready to party. Fights could be avoided by using a smell that calms people down.

Other smells could make them want to return, giving them cravings or whims to be there to dance, drink and spend all their money. If the owners spread a smell of cocktails, customers would buy them. This would be good for business because cocktails is some of the most expensive beverages on the market.

Making the club smell good would make the customers feel comfortable and this could decrease considerably the consumption of drugs. The smell of lavander would make the people willing to leave the club at 2 o'clock sharp, and then the manager wouldn't have to lure the people to the exit and spend hours encouraging them to leave the club.

Using scents could produce all these positive results, and encourage people to return to the place, thus increasing profits for the night club owner.
