Pan from China
My
father-in-law plants many kinds of vegetables in
the back yard of my house; he plants spinach,
Chinese celeries, peppers, cucumbers, beans,
turnips, and some kinds of Chinese vegetables.
He
also plants some fruit trees for us. He really
enjoys taking care of everything he
plants.
Before
he plants them, he puts some fresh water in a small
cup and puts seeds in it. He waits a few days. When
they bud, he takes them out and puts them in soil.
Then he waits for them to grow.
When
they are just beginning to grow, I don't know what
they are because they all look the same. Some kinds
of vegetables are just like grass. My father-in-law
always tells me the name of each one, so now I know
many kinds of vegetables.
He
knows many Chinese neighbors, and they all plant
vegetables. Sometimes they swap vegetables with
each other; they all really enjoy planting
something.
