Loss
of a Private Life

Before
I started thinking about privacy, I never realized
that there are a lot of people who are snooping on
our privacy. I had heard that some people can look
at what you have searched for when you use the
Internet on a computer. I also knew that there were
video cameras in work places, but I never thought
of that as invasion of privacy.
Why
do companies set up cameras to watch what employees
are doing? Maybe they are afraid that employees
might be doing something bad for the
company.
I
worked in a company for two months, and in that
company, there were a lot of cameras to watch both
employees and customers. The reason was that
employers wanted to prevent employees and customers
from stealing goods from the company, and they
wanted to make sure that you worked.
As
for me, it didn't bother me. I didn't consider it
losing my privacy because I worked hard and I was
honest, so I wasn't concerned about the camera
behind me. Work is work; rest is rest.
