When
I was a little child, my parents didn't have a lot
of time to take care of my younger sister, my
younger brother, and me because they had just
started an enterprise. They were always busy doing
their job, and they spent most of their time in
Thailand. Therefore, my parents sent us to my
grandfather's house when they were
overseas.
We
all liked to stay there. My grandpa is a fruit
farmer, so he lives near the foot of a mountain.
The air is fresh and the scenery is beautiful.
There is no air or noise pollution. When I
breathed, I could smell the flowers and the grass.
When I got up every morning, I could hear the birds
and bugs singing. That sounded like
song.
There
is a big orchard near his house. He plants
vegetable and many kinds of fruits, like litchi and
loran, and he also raises many chickens, birds, and
a dog there. When the fruits were mature, we could
pluck them any time we wanted to eat. Otherwise, we
needed to sell the fruits in the street stall
outside the house. The business was often good
because the fruits were sweet.

In
front of the house is a yard. We usually played
ball and ran around the yard. Besides that, there
is a river near his house. The water comes from the
mountain so it is clean. I could see many fish and
shrimp in the river. We often played and grabbed
the small fish and shrimp, and we watched the night
scene beside the river.
In
addition, my grandpa also plants fruits in his own
mountain region. We went there with him very often
because he worried if we stayed at home by
ourselves. The mountain is more beautiful. The
mountain is full of trees, different plants, and
streams. My grandpa taught us the names of the
plants and how they can be used in our life. Some
of the plants are useful as medicine, but some of
them are toxic. Because of him, we learned a
lot.
I
miss the time that I stayed in my grandpa's house.
After my parents' business was steady, I never
stayed in his house any more. When I have free
time, I visit him myself. I really had a good
memory of my childhood. It is all because my
grandfather. I will love him forever.
