Technology
Makes Snooping Easier
Paola
Montsalve from Mexico
People
now think they have the right to see and observe
everything. Big Brother practices are on the
rise, but does the improvement of technology really
give us the opportunity to invade others' privacy?
It seems so.
Now
there are so many invasion of privacy practices
such as wire tapping, video cameras, hidden
microphones, even satellite tracking that people
think just because these exist, they have the right
to use them.
Clearly,
what people don't understand is the difference
between surveillance and invasion of privacy. I
think employers have the right to keep watch on
their employees, but that doesn't mean they can
buy, snoop, or monitor their private lives.
Before
I started thinking about this topic, I wasn't
worried where I was being monitored. I don't mean
now I'm worried, but now wherever I go, I know
hidden cameras are keeping an eye on me.
