Helping Strangers in Need

Making difficult decisions to intervene and help

People sometimes find themselves bystanders in emergency situations where strangers are in need of help. Feelings of responsibility and sympathy for the people in distress often lead these bystanders to intervene and help, but sometimes second thoughts about the consequences of intervening cause them to hesitate.
