My Success as a TV Hostess

Tatiana Anop from Belarus

Working as a journalist, Tatania learned that if people respect you and the job you do, you become a successful person.

I was studying journalism in the Belarussian State University when I got a job on a TV show. At the beginning, I was afraid that I wouldn't do my job as well as I should because I didn't have any experience.

When we watch TV shows, it looks very easy to be a hostess of a talk show, but this job requires professional skills and a lot of experience, so I had a serious reason to worry. However, there were many people who taught me how to do my best. I worked hard and I became a good hostess. Finally, several months later, I had enough knowledge and experience to feel self-confident.

I really liked my job because I met a lot of interesting people and learned a lot from them. In addition, I visited many small towns in my country. Belarus isn't a big country. There are only ten million people. I lived in the biggest city called Minsk which is the capital of Belarus. Two million people live there. To be honest, I hadn't known a lot about life in small towns before I started working for my show. It was great to learn about the lifestyle in small towns and in the countryside.

My show was about people who achieved success in their lives. The people in this country life were not famous people, but they were known in the places they lived in. From my job, I learned that it is not necessary to be a socially recognized person. You can just be a good doctor, teacher or mechanic; but if people respect you and the job you do, that is your major success.

People in Belarus liked the show. Some of them whom I met told me that the show was great and said they always waited for the time when the show would begin. These words were not only for me, but also for all the journalists who made the show. It was the best thing I could ever hear about my work. These words proved that I had done a good job and had been successful.
