I
just couldn't move my hands from those
peanuts. There was usually a conflict in
my mind. The angel said, "You shouldn't
have more peanuts. Then the devil said,
"Come on! It's no big deal.

"No
more peanuts!" That was what my mother used to say
to me. "Why? They are so delicious and healthy!" I
protested.
"Look
at yourself in the mirror. You are getting so much
acne on your face." Those were the best words to
say to stop me from eating peanuts.
I
especially liked eating peanuts as a snack when I
was in senior high school. Therefore, I won the
nickname dao-whe, meaning a guy with a lot
of acne.
Sometimes,
I felt ashamed, but I just couldn't move my hands
from those peanuts.
There
was usually a conflict in my mind. The angel said,
"You shouldn't have more peanuts. Look at you! How
ugly you are!" Then the devil said, "Come on! It's
no big deal. The acne will disappear in several
days."
Obviously,
the devil always won, until one day my mother
decided it was a big problem and stopped me from
eating them. Then, several weeks later, most of my
acne was gone. Now, I sometimes eat peanuts as a
snack, but I can control myself and not eat too
many. "Thank you mom. You're always
right."
