Getting
in Touch on the EFL Plaza
Xochitl
Salinas from Mexico
As
an educational innovation, CIS has an Internet
project for students.
It's
a chat place where students of English as a foreign
language, English speakers who teach, and just
Internet navigators can get in touch. It's called
the EFL Plaza.
We
had yesterday our first experience about this. We
met several people, like:
Ice
Baby who was a little crazy and liked to
laugh a lot. He was from Canada.
Susan
who was a navigator passing by, from Los
Angeles.
Rick
who was a PowWow Tribal Guide, from San Diego.
He said he would like to visit Merida some day
because he is interested in the
ruins.
Truna,
who was a friend of Tod's (our Program
Coordinator) in Australia, another English
teacher.
Chac
and students from the other CIS practicing
their English in the EFL Plaza.
I
think it was fun! I've never spoken with so many
people in English at the same time before. It was
also interesting because you can learn about the
way of thinking of other people from around the
world.
